just imagine dean’s first “i love you” to cas comes totally out of the blue, so natural, in the middle of an argument without even thinking about it. it would go like cas and dean arguing about jack and dean saying something like this “i know you loved him as a son and stood by him against all the odds, and i love you for it but…” and then dean would kinda blush because he didn’t plan this and cas would just stare at dean so choked that he actually said the words.
